Finding The Number Of A Dead Beat Dad

If you’re a single mom and are trying desperately to locate the phone number of a dead beat dad, this article is for you.  For the sake of clarification, let’s first define what a “dead beat dad is”.  Basically, and the definition might be broader, this is someone who has agreed either morally, legally or both, to pay child support for his biological child, then instead of doing so, skips town without paying the bill, in fact, never paying the bill.

Now finding the phone number of such a person might not be easy, but it is doable, and I’m going to tell you how it’s done.  You may or may not be aware of what is called a reverse telephone directory, or reverse lookup.  These are sites whose sole purpose is to help you, private investigators, law enforcement officials and others, find someone who does not want to found.

Basically reverse telephone numbers lookups use multiple online reverse phone books and directory assistance to help you find a person’s name and street address from their phone number.  Now you do need a phone number to get the name and street address, but many times the “dead beat dad” will be using an assumed name.  This might be where you’ll need to use a private investigator, but more on that in a moment, right now let’s do it yourself and see if we can save some dollars.

If you haven’t already done so, type your name into Google and see what comes up, you’d be amazed and if you’re lucky, you might find who you’re looking for, along with a street address and phone number.  When I typed in my name, I just about fell out of my chair, not only was my street address and phone number right there for the entire world to see, but a link to a satellite photo of my house… “Hi mom”.  Now you might not be that fortunate, but certainly give it a try, who knows what you’ll find, and no, I’m not giving the link to the search for my name… lol.

If this doesn’t work for you, then you’ll want to try a reverse telephone search or reverse phone lookup.  Now this will only work if you already have a phone number, so how do you get that VERY important number.  Well it’s a cinch the dead beat dad won’t give it to you, but you’ll need to start your search with someone he knew or knows and slowly but surely, by asking the right questions, broaden your search.  Probably you can’t do this yourself, since that person you’re calling may know you, so you’ll either want to have a third party (maybe a friend) or a private investigator who is schooled in the techniques of weaseling out a phone number from a neighbor, friend, employer, etc.  It can be done, I have a good friend who is a P.I., and she did this very thing just a few months back.  It’s amazing what you can find out (so she said) by posing as the payroll department and wanting to get a last check to Joe Blow (Mr. Dead Beat Dad).
